Her philosophy of teaching is her firm belief that all students deserve the opportunity to actively participate in an educational system where the American Dream is still attainable. She believes that this dream is reachable through the educational system found in North Carolina and she desires to be a part of that experience. "Believing and listening to my students and expecting nothing than the best they have to offer makes each day worthwhile. My beliefs about teaching are demonstrated in my personal teaching style through the "open door policy." My students know I have an open door to my classroom and that they have the keys to my heart. It is not me against them; it is me with them. I love teaching and I hope each of my students see that daily."

WRESA STAFF DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

WRESA has Staff Development computer training classes available online that can be taken at your own pace.  Classes include topics such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Internet for Educators, and Technology and the Curriculum.  Classes are 10 hours long and will count as 1 CEU.  Please contact Rex Smith for registration payment if you are interested.

North Carolina Eliminates Competency and Computer Skills Tests

Allows Former Students to Petition for Their Diploma  

  The North Carolina General Assembly has eliminated the Competency Tests in Reading and Mathematics and the Computer Skills Test.  All currently enrolled public school students who have not met proficiency on those tests are no longer required to meet the competency or computer skills standards to graduate.  Former students who met all state and local graduation requirements (during the time they were enrolled) but did not receive a diploma because of not achieving proficiency on the North Carolina  Reading and/or Mathematics Competency Test(s) and/or the North Carolina Computer Skills Test(s) may now petition their former school for a diploma.  Former students of Graham County Schools who wish to petition may contact Robbinsville High School (479-3330) or the Graham County Schools Administrative Office (479-9820) for more information.
