Welcome to the 2009-2010 School Year!! As our new school year approaches, I would like to take this time to share my vision for our students, staff, parents and the community. Under the capable leadership of our Superintendent Chip Carringer, we have created a host of opportunities for our students for the upcoming school year. Despite economic deficits and unknown budgets, we have set those things aside and carefully considered what approaches are best for our students. What we have found is that Graham County Schools has a rich tradition of academic excellence and we have staff, administrators and a community who are dedicated to continuing a strong, challenging and supported environment for our most precious resource-our students. With that solid foundation, we are able to offer opportunities that are enriching and rigorous, which allow our students to compete globally yet still capture small-town values and a sense of community. As Assistant Superintendent, I am dedicated to serving our students, staff, parents and the community to the best of my ability. I feel truly blessed to be part of a school system that cares genuinely and individually about each of its students. Students- I hope this year you will reach new heights, make new friends and find multiple ways to express your true potential. Staff- I challenge each of you to be the one person who makes a positive change in the life of our students and sincerely wish you a year filled with joy and great rewards. Parents- I look forward to partnering with you as we collaborateively take an active role in the education of your children. Community- I urge you to get to know us, join us for events, volunteer and become a part of our educational system. It takes all of us working together to make a positive difference in our children. If there is ever a way I can be of assistance, my door is always open. Go Black Knights!! Sincerely, Angie Knight
